Walkabout Installation by Fabienne Hollwege & Piera Jovic
When? December 2024 / Where? Banannefabrik Bonnevoie
What is ‘home’?
Is it a smell? A person? A memory?
Is it a place that we can recreate?
In times of dizzying acceleration and instability it is easy to get lost.
But where are our places of calm? Where do we belong? Where can we be happy?
Based in Luxembourg, the artists Fabienne Elaine Hollwege and Piera Jovic call many places their home. In their new walkabout installation, they immerse themselves into the multicoloured shades of a notion that means something different to everyone, bringing to light the important link between home and humanity – HOM[E]ANITY.
Hom[e]anity is an interactive exhibition where performative and participatory elements fuse with music and photography while secret soundscapes fill the space with the voices of young people telling their connection with and experience of ‘home’. The audience is invited to join this exploration with all their senses.
For Hom[e]anity, Fabienne and Piera collaborated with Sophie Meyer (stage designer), Max Thommes (sound designer), Eric Engel (photographer), Ted Kayumba (video artist), Claire Wagener (dramaturg) and Krischan Kriesten (lighting designer).
